We had a wonderful time camping. We stayed in Julian, right by Cuyamaca lake and had a rustic cabin. It was fantastic. A rustic cabin is 4 walls and a roof, with a heat source. This cabin also had a few power outlets and a space heater to keep us warm.
We saw wild turkeys, deer, vultures, squirrels, quail, blue jays, and more (we even had a mouse in our cabin that ran right by my head in the middle of the night!). Erica had lots of family to play with. Scott's family was there also (Samantha, Courtney, Sean, Shane, and Maisey-the-dog), as well as Robin's parents (Steve and Nancy). We didn't starve either. This trip marked my first time trying dutch oven cooking. I discovered that I can make a fantastic pineapple upside down cake in a dutch oven. Let's just say that we didn't starve. As for the medical stuff, I started today off with an email to my doctor asking some very important questions. I asked about PET scans, CT scans, and clinical trials. Beyond that, I have my first meeting with Kaiser Genetics today as well as a possible CT scan today.

You forgot to tell that Erica caught the largest Cat fish.
That's true. She caught a mighty fish.
Great slide show. Uncle Frank is jealous he has always wanted to stay in a place like that. Congrats Erica on her great catch!!!! So did she help clean it and have it for dinner? What a wonderful way to spend a week-end. Great to hear that Nancy, Steve, Scott, and family all went to share in the great adventure. Let's all go sometime!! LOve Aunt Sue and Uncle Frank
What an awesome little trip! It is amazing what you can cook with those dutch ovens. I gave my friend one and have watched a tv program with someone making fantastic dishes; but the pineapple upside down cake was the one that always interested me. Don't think that big 'ol turkey would fit in there tho.....probably have to hit the oven or smoker with him. Mmmmmm Mmmmmmm. Glad to see you out there doing the things you love.
Erica cleans fish?? I wouldn't even do that. Congrats on getting the catch of the day. Tim did you have any luck catching fish? By the way that is an awesome turkey. I prefer not to see the before but really prefer to see the "after" when its beside some mashed potatoes and gravy. Give the family our love.
